Pioneering Trauma-Informed Primary Care Initiative Launches

The National Council for Behavioral Health and Kaiser Permanente introduce new educational program for Community Health Centers to become trauma-informed practices and models for replication.

Stockton, CA:  July 2015 In an ongoing effort to create a health care culture that recognizes and supports individuals dealing with the long term impact of trauma, The National Council for Behavioral Health, in partnership with and sponsored by Kaiser Permanente, is pleased to announce that Community Medical Centers, Inc. was one of 14 organizations around the nation that were selected for the pioneering Trauma-Informed Primary Care Initiative.

Primary care organizations selected for this initiative will play a significant role in shaping the future of the health care system by recognizing and responding to the significant impact of traumatic life events. Through the nine month program, participating organizations will create supporting environments, not only for patients with the long lasting impact of trauma, but also for the clinical team members who are dedicated to their care.
